Honda Civic Type R for SaleHonda proudly accepted the award of 2018 AUTOMOBILE All-Stars from AUTOMOBILE Magazine selected the Honda Accord and Honda Civic Type R as winners of their annual comparison. These awards also distinguish Honda as the brand with the most models on the list than any other brand.

AUTOMOBILE editors praised the 2018 Accord for its generous array of features, including the ample interior space, the eager powertrain, exceptional engineering and athletic performance. The Civic Type R was AUTOMOBILE’s only unanimous selection for the year, and was recognized for its astonishing performance that rivals far more expensive and exotic sports cars. It was also commended for its sensible side as a completely worthy daily driver.

In order for brands and models to be considered for AUTOMOBILE’s annual awards, vehicles must be an all-new creation or a heavily-revised incarnation of an existing model. They also must be on sale within 12 months of All-Stars performance testing and appraisal.

“To receive two All-Star nods in one year speaks to how special we think Honda’s recent offerings have been,” says AUTOMOBILE Editor-in-Chief Mike Floyd. “The new 10th-generation Accord is a meticulously engineered sedan with soul, especially in Sport trim, and the Civic Type R is arguably the greatest performance car for the money available today. From family haulers to hauling butt, Honda continues to blow us – and the competition – away.”

Completely redesigned for the model year, the all-new 2018 Accord enjoys a lighter, rigid body structure, a new chassis design, sleek rakish design language, a sophisticated cabin, generous interior space and storage as well as well-thought ergonomics and unparalleled comfort. Shoppers enjoy the option of two all-new high-torque VTEC Turbo engines as well as the world’s first 10-speed automatic transmission ever paired with a front-wheel-drive car. The Accord also receives a full suite of safety and driver-assist technologies.

The Civic Type R enjoys the distinction of the most powerful Honda ever sold in America, with 306HP and 295lbs-ft of torque from a 2.0-liter DOHC direct-injection VTECH Turbo engine. Other features include a short-throw 6-speed manual transmission, limited-slip differential, Adaptive Damper System and proprietary dual-axis strut front suspension design that nulls nearly any instance of torque steer.
