The all-new 2018 Honda Accord has already won countless awards from the most prestigious outfits in the automotive industry, including the North American Car of the Year, and here is another one from the esteemed Chicago Tribune.

They award the Honda Accord for distinguishing itself in a variety of ways, but most of all for making what seemed to already be the perfect sedan even better.  “It’s lower, leaner, sharper, better equipped, quicker, more fuel efficient, more powerful, more spacious than the outgoing model and pretty much anything else in its class. The top of the line Touring trim could compete with premium brands such as Buick, Infiniti and Honda’s own Acura TLX. Sound crazy? For its price, it’s a deal”, says Chicago Tribune.

They love the power offered in the Accord, thanks in part to the 2-liter 4-cylinder engine producing 252HP and 273lbs-ft of torque.  “Combine its punch with a lower center of gravity and sharp handling, and the new Accord is downright fun. Yup, way more fun than the old V-6, and more fun than Camry’s new V-6 in the XSE”, says Chicago Tribune.

The love the interior, which they find to be tech-laden, ergonomic and comfortable.  The chrome appointments, wood-like trim and soft-touch material pair with a remarkable fit-and-finish to produce a sophisticated, upscale cabin.

All-in-all, Chicago Tribune praises the 2018 Honda Accord for expanding and expounding upon all the features that have made past generations of the Accord a true bestseller in the US.  The light chassis that is now stiffer.  The suspension tuning that delivers a perfect blend of ride quality and handling, the generous safety features and well-appointed cabin.  “Auto awards are a dime a dozen”, concludes Chicago Tribune, “but the 2018 Honda Accord is the best midsize sedan on the market.”
